I painted it black and covered the back cushion with Alexander Henry's Perfect Pattern fabric and the seat with a scrap of houndstooth. Here it is in action!

Rocking Chair Pincushion
This is my favorite find from Value Village's half off sale Wednesday. I paid 40 cents for it.
I am working on recovering a sewing stool in the Perfect Pattern fabric and will post pictures soon. I love this fabric.

Better than a Bunny Painting
I picked this up at Value Village on half-off day for about $3.50. It's all one piece (the frame doesn't come apart.) My first thought was to spray it with chalkboard paint. Then I moved my loveseat and was desperate right then for something to go on the wall above it. So I dug into my scrapbooking paper and made a little collage.
As I said, I was in a hurry to get something on the wall, so I just scotch-taped the pieces on there. It was meant to be a temporary solution but now I think the best part about it is its fluidity. I have taken some papers off and trimmed them down to use for another project or replaced them altogether. It's a working display.
It should be a little lower on the wall but there were already screws there so you know that's where it landed. For now. ;)

Hmm...
Sometimes when I am in thrift stores, I see something and it will actually prompt me to say, "What...?!" out loud (and I am not usually a person who talks to herself.) Here is a prime example from Value Village on the big sale day last week.
"What...?! And there are 3 of them?"
Then I rounded the corner...
So weird. What are they?
Then a couple of endcaps later...

Picking your Friends
This seems almost sickeningly sweet until you think about what happens to flowers after you pick them! Then it seems ominous. Remember, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friends off.

This Chick
Look past all the flowers, buttons, scrunchies and even the raffia that is obstructing the face (I know it's hard) and focus on the message here. It says, in faded "lollipop" letters, "This chick is going to Wal Mart!!" Is that supposed to convey a "Born to Shop" tone and are we supposed to believe that "this chick" is going to indulge herself in some way by going to Wal Mart?
